Vision Impaired Paratriathletes  - Benny Chu Kin Wa was recently selected for the Para National Triathlon Squad.

He needs guides to compete in Triathlon, Aquathon and Duathlon races.

 The guide needs to be able to swim alongside him in the sea, ride with  him on a tandem bike and give him directions during the run. Ruth Hunt said, “The guide is essentially his vision during the course and we are looking for guides for one-off events and also a long-term guide up to Rio 2016”


The Guide needs to be able to:

Swim: 1 minute 35 seconds per 100m for 750m

Run: 20 minutes or less for 5k


We are also looking for coaches, handlers and guides for athletes with disabilities.

Further to the site check of race officials this afternoon, it was 
determined that the current conditions of the bike course are not 
suitable for race tomorrow as a result of the heavy rain over the last 
few days. Further rain and thunderstorms are forecasted overnight by the 

Regrettably, and to ensure the safety of athletes and officials, the FOS 
Age Group Triathlon race tomorrow, 11/5, will be cancelled.

The race will be rescheduled to 15/6, same time.

All athletes representing Hong Kong, China to participate in the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Edmonton need to comply with ITU Uniform Guideline and it is compulsory to wear the Hong Kong, China race kit approved by ITU for all races. Details will be released very shortly.

Reporting to the Head Triathlon Coach, the Part-Time Triathlon Coach will be responsible for the following duties:

  • To provide training for elite and junior athletes; and

The ParaTriathlon Talent ID will take place this Saturday, 15 March, at the athletic track of Hong Kong Sports Institute from 1000 to 1200 for the run session,

The next National Squad Time Trials will take place on 28-29 March and 12 April 2014. This is not a public time trial, but by invitation only. Members of the National Development Squad (NDS) who have the potential to make the National Squad qualifying times will be invited to take part for those disciplines in which they fell short at the last annual Time Trials. Members of the Regional who have the potential to make the National Development Squad qualifying times will be invited to take part for those disciplines in which they fell short at the last annual Time Trials. Other athletes not currently in the NDS who in the view of the Head Coach have the potential for direct entry into the National Squad may also be invited to take part in all three disciplines. 

The Time Trials schedule is as follows:

28 March 2014 (Fri) from 1830 Run Time Trial
29 March 2014 (Sat) from 1230 Swim Time Trial
12 April 2014 (Sat) from 0715 Bike Time Trial

The Qualifying Times, which remain unchanged, are posted on the TriHK website.
