2026 Asia Triathlon U23 Championships Hong Kong, China
(28 March - 29 March 2026) Selection Policy
(6 men and 6 women slots) (tentative number)

Objectives:
The primary objective of this policy is to establish criteria for selection, ensuring fairness, consistency, and transparency in the process for TriHK to select capable and eligible athletes to represent Hong Kong, China, with the target of achieving the best results in the individual event at the aforementioned Championship.

Details & Criteria:

1. Athletes must be born between 1 January 2003 and 31 December 2008 (Aged 18-23) to qualify and are current TriHK National Squad Members.
2. Athletes must have sufficient results to be put on the start list for all events.
3. Athletes with any current (2026) disciplinary issues are not eligible for selection.
4. Race Selection Slots:
• Best-ranked U23 Hong Kong athlete in the Top 8 of the 2025 National Games (1 slot)
• Best-ranked U23 Hong Kong athlete in the Top 8 of the 2025 Asia Triathlon U23 Championships, Aqaba (1 slot)
• First U23 Hong Kong athlete across the finish line at the 2026 Duathlon Series – Race 1 (1 slot)
• First U23 Hong Kong athlete across the finish line at the 2026 Duathlon Series – Race 2 (1 slot)
• First two U23 Hong Kong athletes across the finish line at the 2026 Putrajaya ELITE Continental Cup (2 slots)

Reserve Slots:
- Final racing slot subjects to World Triathlon’s allocation, and such information is awaiting to be announced.
- The athlete with the best combination of TriHK recognised 2026 race results.
- Any eligible athlete not selected via the above selection methods would be substituted if the selected athlete is unable to take part due to injury/physical/mental conditions

TriHK reserves the right, when and where necessary, to adjust the above policies and has the final discretion. Performance in this selection will serve as a key reference in the selection for the 2026 World Championships.
