2026 Asian Games Triathlon Aichi-Nagoya, Japan

Selection Policy
(3 men and 3 women slots) (tentative number)

Objectives:
The primary objective of this policy is to establish criteria for selection, ensuring fairness, consistency, and transparency in TriHK's process for selecting capable and eligible athletes to represent Hong Kong, China, to challenge for podium positions (1st, 2nd and 3rd) in the individual and Mixed Team relay at the aforementioned event.

Details & Criteria:
1. Athletes must be 18 years old by 31st December 2026 for the individual event.
2. Athletes must be 16 years old by 31st December 2026 for the relay event.
3. Athletes are current TriHK National Squad Members.
4. Athletes must have a valid HKSAR passport.
5. Athletes must have sufficient results to be put on the start list for all events.
6. Athletes with any current (2026) disciplinary issues are not eligible for selection.
7. Race Selection Slots:
• First Hong Kong athlete to achieve a top 20 position at the 2026 World Triathlon Cup Chengdu (1 Male and 1 Female slot)
• First Hong Kong athlete to achieve a podium position at the 2026 Asia Triathlon Cup Lianyungang (1 Male and 1 Female slot)
• First Hong Kong athlete to achieve a podium position at the 2026 Asia Triathlon Super Sprint Elite, Youth, U15 Championship Xuzhou (1 Male and 1 Female slot)

*If the criteria are not reached, the slot will become discretionary based on HKSFOC “Objective Selection Criteria”.

Reserve Slots:
- Any eligible athlete not selected via the above selection methods would be
substituted if the selected athlete is unable to take part due to injury/physical/mental conditions.

TriHK reserves the right, when and where necessary, to adjust the above policies and has the final discretion.
