2026 Asia Triathlon Junior Championships Hong Kong, China

Due to the rescheduling of the 2026 Asia Triathlon U23 Championships in Hong Kong, China, now set for 14–15 March 2026, and in order to comply with the World Triathlon registration deadline, the selection policy has been updated as follows:

Objectives:
The primary objective of this policy is to establish criteria for selection, ensuring fairness, consistency, and transparency in the process for TriHK to select capable and eligible athletes to represent Hong Kong, China, with the target of achieving the best results in the individual event at the aforementioned Championship.

Details & Criteria:

1. Athletes must be born between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2010 (Aged 16-19) to qualify and are current TriHK National Squad Members.
2. Athletes must have sufficient results to be put on the start list for all events.
3. Athletes with any current (2026) disciplinary issues are not eligible for selection.
4. Race Selection Slots:
• Best-ranked Junior Hong Kong athlete in the Top 8 of the 2025 Asia Triathlon Junior Championships, Aqaba (1 slot)
• First Junior Hong Kong athlete across the finish line at the 2026 Duathlon Series – Race 1 (1 slot)
• Top three Junior Hong Kong athletes across the finish line at the 2026 Putrajaya JUNIOR Continental Cup (3 slots)
• One discretionary slot will be reserved by the Selection Committee, which will review athletes’ race results, training performance, and attitude over the past quarter (1 slot)

Reserve Slots:
- Final racing slot subjects to World Triathlon’s allocation, and such information is awaiting to be announced.
- The athlete with the best combination of TriHK recognised 2026 race results.
- Any eligible athlete not selected via the above selection methods would be substituted if the selected athlete is unable to take part due to injury/physical/mental conditions

TriHK reserves the right, when and where necessary, to adjust the above policies and has the final discretion. Performance in this selection will serve as a key reference in the selection for the 2026 World Championships.
